Pray for the Preaching and Propagation of the true Gospel

Pray for the Preaching and Propagation of the true Gospel. (Galatians 1:6-12; Colossians 1:12-29)

  1. Pray for courage from our pulpits to call out sin, to preach the Law of God, to reveal the perfection and holiness of God, and the guilt of sinners  in order to preach fully the grace of Christ. (Isaiah 58.1)
  2. Pray for tender hearts, and open ears to the Gospel. Pray for tears and grief over sins committed. Pray for conviction instead of self-defense, for mourning instead of laughter, for Gospel-grief instead of carnal security, and that preachers would be ready with the answer of gospel grace to such as mourn for their sins. (Matthew 5.3-12; Ezekiel 21.8-10)
  3. Pray for the training of ministers, that they would walk the old paths wherein is truth concerning sin, righteousness, judgment, grace, and mercy. Pray that those in training would search their own hearts, that they might be given to Christ. Pray the same for those in the ministry already, that their preaching would be seasoned with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 9.24-27; 2 Timothy 2.1-2)
  4. Pray for our Churches, that they would turn away from worldly philosophy, self-help psychology, and other errors contrary to the Gospel, that preaching would show the sinfulness of sin, the wrath of God against sinners, and the remedy in Christ Jesus alone. (Romans 1.16-18)
  5. Pray that thoughts of eternity would drown out the distractions of this world, and the deception that “today” is all there is, that our fellow church members, and fellow citizens in this land would  remember that we all have a date with death, and afterward comes the judgment, that we would prepare ourselves to meet Christ as a Savior and Mediator, and not as a judge. (Revelation 20.11-15; Hebrews 9.27)
  6. Pray that the Lord would send His Spirit with the preaching of Christ, that He would open the hearts of many hearers, replacing hearts of stone with hearts of flesh, granting faith and repentance. (Acts 16.12-14; Ephesians 1.17)
  7. Pray for true Gospel preaching in our churches, that false professors might turn to the Lord in sincerity and bring forth saving fruit. (Acts 8.14-24)
