True Peace, and the Peace that flows from it.

Pray for true peace, and all of its manifestations, for the Church, and for our society.

  1. Pray for pulpit ministry that follows Christ’s own preaching, preaching peace to him that is afar off, and peace to him that is near, that men might be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ, and being thus reconciled, would be at peace one with another. (Ephesians 2.14-22)
  2. Pray that being converted to Christ, the people of God would not manufacture unholy divisions among themselves, but would live as brethren, holding fast to Christ the Head, that the body might be knit together in peace and love, allowing for differences without division, emphasizing truths confessed among us. (1 Peter 3.8-12)
  3. Pray that our leaders in the Church and State would know the peace of Christ, being reconciled to God, and would promote true, Biblical peace in their leadership, putting away unnecessary and sinful conflict, seeking an upright and Biblical peace in all their relations, over the charges that they have. (Isaiah 2.1-5)
  4. Pray for the people of God, that they would not live in anxiety and worry, but knowing the peace they have with God through Jesus Christ, might with confidence, joy, and satisfaction, prosecute their daily callings and duties with joy, know that in Christ God accepts their labor, to His glory. (Ecclesiastes 9.4-10)
  5. Pray that in the enjoyment of peace that the Lord gives with Himself through Christ, we would learn to live at peace with one another in our society, such that we would not envy, nor covet one another’s things, but would labor with our own hands the thing that is good, having to give to those who are in need. (Ephesians 4.28; 1 Thessalonians 4.9-12)
  6. Pray for peace of conscience among the people of God, that our consciences would be rightly informed by the Word of God, that we would remain clear of the doctrines and commandments of men, and that applying ourselves to His Word, He would direct our steps in all good conscience; pray also for that peace of conscience that rises out of the forgiveness of the Lord through Christ, that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8.1; 14.23)
  7. Pray that through confession of sin, self-examination, and new obedience, (the Lord’s grace helping in all) that we might keep a good conscience, living at peace before the Lord, and toward one another. (Romans 14.19-23; Acts 24.16)
  8. Pray that we would not content ourselves with outward tranquility, but would seek to live truly at peace with God through Jesus Christ in justification by faith in Christ alone, and in the advance of holiness before Him all the day of our lives—that personal peace and prosperity would not be the goal of our lives, but peace with God. (Matthew 6.25-34)
