The Propagation of the Gospel:

Pray for the mission of the Church, to Disciple the Nations, and all Godly means to that end.

  1. Pray that the Lord of the harvest would raise up workers (ministers) to go and reap in His fields, which are white to the harvest, and for all the means of training, examining, trying, ordaining, and sending them to those fields to reap the Lord’s harvest throughout all the world. (Matthew 9.35-38)
  2. Pray for all the people of God, that they would have a ready testimony to the things that the Lord has done for them, a ready answer for those who ask of the hope that lies within them, and that their lives would adorn their profession of Christ in all things. (1 Peter 3.15; Titus 2.10)
  3. Pray for the parents of the Church, that with the assistance of the ministry of the Word, and the officers of the Church, they might press Christ to their children, speaking to them about sin, righteousness, judgment, grace, mercy, and peace, that through the means of grace the lambs of Christ might call upon His Name in His due time. (Matthew 19.14)
  4. Pray for the members of the Church, that having made their profession of faith, and being received into the Church, that they would make their calling and election sure, that they would take heed, lest a root of bitterness spring up in their hearts and they are defiled by it, that they would examine themselves whether they be in the faith, and that the Lord would give persevering grace and salvation. (2 Peter 1.5-11; Hebrews 12.14-17; 2 Corinthians 13.5)
  5. Pray for the testimony of the Church, that it would be dignified, respectable, befitting the God she serves, and the Savior she presents, that when she confronts the world concerning sin, and the need it has for the Savior, that the Church might do so from the context of holiness, giving glory to God in her ministry. (1 Timothy 6.1; 2 Corinthians 6.1-10)
  6. Pray for Presbyteries, that they might be very aware of their responsibility to do the work of receiving men under care, directing and validating the gifts of ministerial candidates, and sending them when they are trained and ready, according to the commands of Christ. (2 Timothy 2.1-2; Acts 13.1-5)
  7. Pray that in the Church’s work of evangelism and missions, that she would do all things according to the Word of the Lord, that as this is part of the way she worships, this too would be regulated by the Word of Christ. (Matt. 28.18-20)
