The 8th Commandment and Property

  1. Pray for the Church, that she would provide for her people, and for the watching world, a Biblical view of property and ownership, with contentment, that the Lord would remove Woke-ism, Liberation Theology, Communism, Socialism, and replace these devilish doctrines with the Biblical conception of ownership, responsibility, care, generosity, and compassion. (Proverbs 22.22; Exodus 23.3; Leviticus 19.15; Deuteronomy 16.18-20; 1 Corinthians 6.1-8)
  2. Pray for heads of households in the Church, that they would engage in a lawful calling, work diligently in it, give testimony to Christ in their work ethic, provide for their families, and have enough in excess for generosity. (Ephesians 4.28)
  3. Pray that all of the tithe would be brought to the Lord as He has commanded, that we rob not God, that the Church might with great faith rest upon the promise of the Lord to provide for His people. (Malachi 3.7-12)
  4. Pray that along with the civil ownership of things, and a right use of that doctrine, that the people of God would recognize the Lord’s ownership of all things, and themselves as stewards of His generous gifts, that we would at all times be ready to distribute to those who are in need, especially among those of the household of faith. (Gal. 6.10; 1 Tim. 6.17-19)
  5. Pray regarding the civil estate of our nation, that the Lord would convict those in authority of excessive taxation, wasting and misusing of funds, the taking of bribes, favoring any in judgment for profit, wealth redistribution, sinful spending of resources overseas, or any other sinful use of the public trust, that He would grant repentance, mortifying of these and other like sins, that the Lord would send healing to our land. (Isaiah 33.13-17; 2 Chronicles 25.5-13)
  6. Pray for proper care of the things the Lord has provided for us, that along with the rights of property, the people of God might come to understand how things are cared for, maintained, and responsibilities of right use, preservation, and care are understood, that the Lord might receive all obedience. (Genesis 31.38-40; 1 Chr. 27.29-31)
  7. Pray that the people of God would guard their hearts regarding the possessions of others, that they descend not into covetousness, a false sense of entitlement or deserving, that they might respect the property of others, and assist their neighbors, seeking their advancement. (Deuteronomy 22.1-4; Genesis 47.14-20)
