Pray that in our recent fast, the Lord would hear and do all His holy will.

The Lord hears the prayers of His people: Daniel 9.1-19; Luke 10.1-13; Romans 10.1-15

Pray that in our recent fast, the Lord would hear and do all His holy will.

  1. Pray that the Lord will grant to each of His people repentance from known sin, that He would also reveal even greater sins to us that remain in our hearts, that we might turn to Him in confidence of mercy in Christ. (1 John 1.9)
  2. Pray that we would rightly use the ordinance of prayer, asking the Lord for things agreeable to his will, in the Name of Christ, and that we would ask in faith, without doubting or double-mindedness. (James 1.1-8)
  3. Pray that as we have prayed for the estate of our families, the Lord would grant mourning for sin, humility, an increase of familial devotion to Christ in service, in family harmony and unity, respect for authority, love for inferiors, for wisdom in our witness to the world, and for support as families for the worship and work of the Kingdom of Christ. (Eph. 5.21-6.9)
  4. Pray that as we have prayed for the estate of our Churches, the Lord would grant reformation of doctrine, worship, government, practice, leadership, and witness to this world, that the light of Christ would shine out from our Churches to this dark world. (1 Peter 4.17; Pslam 50.1-6)
  5. Pray that as we have prayed for our civil estate, that the Lord would grant, through the reformation of the Church, peace in our streets, godly prosperity in our cities, the love of holiness in our citizens, and other spiritual and temporal blessings that would be palpably traced back to the Scripture maxim: Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. (Proverbs 14.24; Psalm 144.9-15)
  6. Pray that the Lord would be pleased to cause the Gospel to spread throughout this land, that many would be called to Christ, and hearing, they shall be delivered out of the kingdom of darkness and into the kingdom of God’s Son. (Col. 1.13)
  7. Pray that our civil leaders would learn to kiss the Son, lest they perish from the way. (Psalm 2.1-12)
  8. Pray for the Elders of the Church, that they might lead the people of God in all good things, and as good examples of the flock would themselves mourn for sin, ask for repentance and forgiveness, make a right use of afflictions and destructions, order their ecclesiastical labors in holiness, provide proper Church discipline, order, and instruction as befits leaders under Christ, that the Lord would be glorified in His Kingdom. (Joel 2.15-17; 1 Peter 5.1-4)
