Pray for the Church, that she would witness to the 6th Commandment in her teaching and example. (Jeremiah 26:1-16; Deut. 19:1-15)

  1. Pray for our nation, that the shedding of innocent blood would cease, whether in false accusation and wrongful punishment, abortion, euthanasia, unjust war, violent policing, criminal activity, domestic and civil violence, removal of supply, and all other sinful courses with lead to the loss of life, that the Lord would grant the knowledge of Himself as the giver and preserver of life, and man created in His image, that men would honor Him. (1 Kings 18:4)
  2. Pray for proper punishment of evildoers who shed innocent blood. (Genesis 9:6)
  3. Pray for an end to the rancor and violent speech in our nation, that men would pursue peace. (1 Peter 3:10-12)
  4. Pray for a greater care in activities such as driving, working in more dangerous environments, recreations, and all other activities that we would undertake them with an eye to the great gift of life that God has given to us, that we would not unnecessarily or lightly endanger ourselves or others. (Deuteronomy 22:8)
  5. Pray for those in the medical profession, doctors, nurses, surgeons, and other caregivers, that the oath to do no harm and to preserve life would be honored and performed. Pray for those who have a Christian profession, that they would
    promote the interests of Christ in their labors, resisting the ungodly momentum currently to think of those in need as something other than image-bearers of God. (Philippians 2:25-32; Colossians 4:14)
  6. Pray for God’s people, that we would set an example of temperance, forgiveness, edifying and courteous speech, sympathy with those in need, and all other ways of making and promoting of peace between men. (Romans 12:17-21)
  7. Pray for the Church, that she would set a good example of self-defense and care for others, that those with authority, opportunity, and ability would rise up to the defense of others, that she would “deliver those who are led away to death” and defend the widow and fatherless, according to place and station. (Proverbs 24:10-11)
  8. Pray that in times of temporal distress and affliction, Christians would rise up, adorning their profession of faith with generosity, good leadership in self-reliance, help to others in the preservation of life. (Genesis 42:2)
  9. Pray for civil govt’s, that as the ordinance of God they would promote the common health and lawful wealth, punishing evil, promoting good, sparing the innocent, and punishing those who commit capital crimes. (Ps. 82:1-8; 94:17-23)
