Pray for the Church, that her service to the Lord would be straight and holy, in a day of perversity.

1. Pray for the Church, that she would remain free of the corruptions of the world around her, and that instead of conformity, she would reprove and expose the world’s crookedness with the light of God’s Word. (Ephesians 5:1-14)
2. Pray for the Church, that her witness to the truth of the Scriptures would be humbly, yet firmly held forth, as the Word of life—not only holding forth the Word of life, but living it out as her continuing witness to her obedience to and faith in Christ as her King. (Philippians 2:16)
3. Pray for courageous obedience for the people of God as we come under greater animus from those who love darkness rather than light, and especially from sinful civil authority, that we would obey God and not men. (Acts 5:29)
4. Pray for godly families, raising children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, mothers and fathers ensconced in their Biblical roles, with good order, a Sabbath cadence, and other marks of godliness and faith, before a world gone mad with individuality, destruction of familial affection, and division. (2 Timothy 3:1-9; 1 Peter 3:1-7)
5. Pray for Christian husbands and fathers, that they would not abdicate their role as head of household, but would provide godly and manly leadership in instruction, provision, protection, spirituality, following the example of our Lord Jesus Christ who is a “father to His children,” and a husband to the Church. (Hebrews 2:13; Ephesians 5:25-33)
6. Pray for the young adults of the Church, that they would seek godly spouses, lasting marriages, lawful and spiritually profitable callings, good counsel from their superiors in the family and Church, that they may prepare themselves for the days of their majority with wisdom, carrying the true faith forward in their own families. (Malachi 2:10-17)
