Pray for the Church and larger society, for the destruction of our idols in this land.

1. Pray for the Church, that the Lord would turn her heart toward Him, to seek His face only, that she would put away the idols of her heart, and pull down all those structures of false confidence, illicit peace, carnal supply she has erected in the place of the true God; that she would hear Him instead. (Ezekiel 14:1-11)
2. Pray for the leaders of the Church, that they would not place inordinate desire upon earthly advancement, worldly popularity, acceptability to the ungodly of this age, or any other thing that would arise and replace love, loyalty, and obedience to the Lord, that He might have His rightful place among the officers of the Church. (1 Timothy 3:1-7)
3. Pray for the members of the Churches, that they would love the true God, dedicate themselves to learning of Him, taking His yoke of liberty to themselves, turning away from the idols of this age and their yoke of bondage. (Matthew 11:28-30; Galatians 5:1-12)
4. Pray for our fellow-citizens in this land, that they would turn “to God, from idols, to serve the living and true God.” Pray that our land would be awash in the true religion, that the idols of this land (material prosperity, pleasure, leisure, carnal peace and security, and all false religions) would be cast into the caves and holes of the earth. (Isaiah 2.10-22)
5. Pray for our leaders in this nation, that they would not put their trust in horses (weapons of war) for safety and security, but that they would come under the preaching of the true religion, and give their hearts to the Lord, and that they would not trust in vain things, but in the Lord our God. (Psalm 33:12-22)
6. Pray that out nation would cease its attachment to ungodly leadership, to those who promise what they cannot deliver, who would stand in the place of the true God over this land. Pray that such self-sufficiency and pride would be torn down, recognized for the idol that it is, and that “The Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.” (Isaiah 2:1-11)
7. Pray for a tearing down of the reasonings and vain philosophies, those strongholds of idolatry, that exalt themselves against the knowledge God, and that the Lord would be pleased in our land to grant instead the love of the truth, rather than the “deceivableness of unrighteousness” that many would turn from those idols to Him. (2 Thess. 2:1-12)
8. Pray for the training of our elders, that not only would our officers in be turned to the Lord in their education, but that the methods of education would not mimic the world in method, or in content. Pray that our officers would “be taught of God,” themselves men of the Truth, hearing the voice of the Good Shepherd alone. (2 Timothy 2:1-2)
