Pray for the Church and society, for a Biblical understanding of Marriage, Gender Roles, and Chastity

1. Pray for the Church, that she would teach the whole counsel of God, including Biblical marriage as between one man and one woman for life, unflinching in teaching Biblical chastity, and providing not only proper teaching, but loving and godly discipline, good example, and the prophetic voice to the society. (1 Corinthians 5.1-13)
2. Pray for the civil magistrates of our lands, that they would learn to submit to the Creator and Savior of the world regarding Biblical marriage, chastity, and all perverse usages of human intimacy, that they would punish evil, and promote the good. (1 Kings 15.9-13)
3. Pray for Christian parents, that they would promote chastity and modesty in their children through instruction and good order, Biblical gender roles respecting masculinity and femineity, and provide a good example to their children and others in Church and society. (Proverbs 31.10-31; Ruth 3.1-18)
4. Pray especially for God’s people, for a proper conception of marriage and its God-given uses and advantages for our race:
1. For the mutual help of husband and wife in their duties before the Lord to subdue and fill the earth for the glory of God.
2. For the furnishing of mankind with a legal heir better to transmit wealth, knowledge, wisdom, and godly societal stability from generation to generation.
3. For the furnishing of the Church with a godly seed, and the advancement of the true religion over the whole face of the world.
4. For the prevention of uncleanness, leading to other sins such as abortion, poverty, violence, and jealousy, etc. (Gen. 2.18; 1 Cor 7.1-2; Psalm 25.13; Malachi 2.15)
5. Pray that the Lord would remove the perversions that have crept into our society’s conception of family, marriage, intimacy, and inheritance, and that by the preaching of the Word of God, many who are lost in such perversions would be recovered and turn from idols to serve the living God. (1 Corinthians 6.9-11)
6. Pray that the deception of the enemy of our souls would be met with the preaching of the Word of God, and those reasonings of men would be destroyed by the ministry of the Word and the example of the Church, that the Lord would give light, that they might war and good warfare in this world, with mighty weapons. (2 Corinthians 10.1-6)
7. Pray that all courses of unchastity would be avoided by the Church: immodesty, evil communication, lewd entertainments, other indulgent behavior, along with all forms of uncareful associations, that the truth of God’s design for family and marriage would be jealously preserved and guarded by her. (Amos 2.7; Leviticus 18)
