Confidence in the Lord’s Mercy, forgiving sin, giving repentance.

Pray for the people of God, for confidence in prayer, asking according to His will. (John 16.23-27, 1 John 5.1-21)

  1. Pray that the people of God would not doubt of their heavenly Father’s goodness and mercy to them in Christ, but in testimony to their faith, that they might come to Him, seeking repentance, reformation, and forgiveness. (Luke 11.1-13)
  2. Pray for that sincere focus upon Christ and His righteousness as the only ground of confidence in appearing before God seeking supplies of mercy and grace. (Ephesians 3.12)
  3. Pray that in their time of trial, the people of God would doubt of the compassion of their great High Priest, coming to Him for help in time of need, knowing that he is touched with that feeling of our infirmities. (Hebrews 4.11-16)
  4. Pray that the people of God would know that because the Father has given Christ, His only Son, and His Spirit, that He will withhold no good thing from those who ask of Him. (Luke 11.13; Romans 8.32; Psalm 84.11)
  5. Pray that the people of God would look for those good and perfect gifts from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning, that in receiving the adoptions of sons, they might call upon His name alone, seeking their needs from Him, and from no others, with confidence. (James 1.13-18)
  6. Pray that like David, in times of great affliction, the people of God would know how to “encourage themselves in the Lord their God” calling upon Him with reverence as children to a father. (1 Samuel 30.6) \
  7. Pray that the people of God would call upon the Lord for mercy, with self-examination and courage, confessing their sins, confident that He will forgive and grant repentance to those who ask. (2 Timothy 2.24-26)
  8. Pray that as the eyes of a servant eyes the hands of his master for supply, care, and help, so we would look to the Lord in confidence that He is our help and salvation. (Psalm 123.2; Isaiah 49.38)
  9. Pray that the people of God would not doubt of the Lord’s kindness to His own, even when they must wait long for deliverance, but in such times of waiting their patience, perseverance, and love for the Lord would grow strong, that they would not be weary in well doing, confidently wait upon the Lord. (Hebrews 12.1-3; Galatians 6.8; Luke 18.6-8)
  10. Pray for such confidence in the Lord among the people of God, that even when the gives an unexpected answer, or sends trials instead of blessing, contrary to our request, confessing that he does all things well, that we would not lose confidence in His goodness, humbly confessing that His will is always best. (Matthew 6.10 Luke 22.42)
